Nami Assir started making videos in March 2020 — the week COVID shut everything down, on his 27th birthday. He was a teacher at the time. When in-person classes stopped, he started recording lessons for his students. Something clicked. He bought equipment, left the classroom, and went full-time a year later.
The move into healthcare wasn't planned. Working in the Boston area, he kept finding himself hired by healthtech companies, clinical teams, and life sciences organizations — people building genuinely complex products with almost no ability to explain them clearly on camera. In 2022, Calyx.ai brought him on to produce a series of case study films for clients including Pfizer, AbbVie, and Vigil. That work set a direction he never expected — and hasn't left since.
What keeps him here is the breadth. Healthcare isn't just doctors and patients — it's some of the most serious entrepreneurs in the world working on consequential problems, from injectable biologics and AI diagnostics to telehealth platforms and clinical trial software. Nearly all of them struggle to communicate what they do. That gap is where Lenslight works.
